Palm Springs: Desert Resort

When the celebs need to get away from the "city", they head to the desert resort towns such as Palm Springs. Head out on freeway 111 and the ride will take you through dry desert mountains, big windmill farms and the Desert Hills outlets. Arriving at Palm Springs is like reaching an oasis. Hotels, spas and golf courses are kept artificially alive in an arid desert climate. Lawns have no business being green in this environment but Americans are big on wasting natural resources.
