Ode to Foodie Singapore
When I think of Singapore, I think of a nation of foodies, epicurean in the pursuit of the next meal. Foodie is a language I inherently understand and often preached. Here is a place where foodie language was spoken; where every delicious morsel counts towards stomach space and therefore expending effort in searching for good food is a worthy undertaking. Requiring creative strategies and thoughtful planning, time needs to be spent discussing dinner plans while enjoying lunch. Hours spent researching hot new restaurants; interpreting maps; teasing out logistics and broadcasting communications to fellow foodies are elementary ways of life. No longer was I a lone preacher as I often found myself in Boston; in Singapore they have perfected the methods and were schooling me in their unbridled passion.
